I remember renting a car from Toronto and driving through Ottawa and also through Kingston. It's very vague now. I would have never thought to look for windmills, that's why we put you there with a Vespa, so you could ride around, snap some photos & do a bit of research to let keep us informed

Keep up the good work !

Wasn't Bennedict the one who invented Eggs Bennedicts ? I had some last weekend

bob
Riding the Wet Coast
My Flickr // My YouTubeAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05258612401956399482noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7776318709416054670.post-32049813778990283692012-08-10T14:30:29.184-04:002012-08-10T14:30:29.184-04:00Trobairitz, hey I went to school here and we were ...Trobairitz, hey I went to school here and we were never taught about mills or fortifications in Montreal, except perhaps fortified buildings in the old quarter of the city. My next blog targets are another mill and a 17th century stone fort that are both within a 15 minute ride of my house, but that until very recently I didn't know existed. The fort was destroyed in a raid by Benedict Arnold, before he became synonymous for American treachery.

Martha, Montreal and Quebec City are fairly unique in North America for having the earliest European settlements of any size. Both cities were the key jumping off places for the much of the exploration of the continent.
