Vespa Club of Canada

The Vespa Club of Canada is re-born, and I am proud member No. 25.

The club badge, which I received in the mail this morning, will be sewn on my Corazzo 5.0 in time for another epic blogger-to-blogger tour this winter.

This tour (the planning stage is barely underway), will see an intrepid group of riders and moto-bloggers, mostly on Vespa large-frames, heading from somewhere in northern Florida to the southernmost point in the U.S.
I look forward to seeing where the re-born Canadian Vespa club will lead. One thing is certain, that whole birds-of-a-feather thing is powerful mojo. I'm sure it's going to be interesting.

A special thank you to Nova Scotian Ian Brown-Sweeting for taking this on as club president.

David, awesome news! Do you know if they'd take Canadians living abroad?

In a heartbeat! Say no more, you and Roland just signed up :)

And you signed them up to be officers which require in-person meetings ;-)

Looking forward to your upcoming trip to Key West. Better visit before it disappears underwater...

No joke! Susan and I were toying with the idea of buying a place in Florida and a close friend expressed shock. "Dave, check it out... it's not going to exist, maybe in our lifetime!"

It's a fact that the global warming sea level maps don't paint a pretty picture.

On the other hand, Montreal will be the new Miami.

Oh, I'm not that evil. It's a thought though...

Congratulations on your Vespa club David ... oh, and global warming - there's another good reason for living on the top of the hill!

The Vespa Club of Canada. Bob had given me a Vespa Club of Canada scarf, which I re-gifted as part of the ModernVespa gift exchange last year or the year before. I remember thinking that the club had withered away. Now it's back, and I'm an actual member. Funny how life winds around in curious ways.

As for global warming, it's much more difficult to grasp the danger when it's so freaking cold out.

You must buy hilltop property. But not many hills in Florida The highest point in the state is less than 400 feet above sea level. I live at 25 feet, so probably good for the next 50 years or so. The Keys will disappear.

Bill, my brother-in-law used to live in Hollywood, in the Emerald Hills neighborhood, west of the I-95. He was fond of saying "no hills, no emeralds". Aparently is was valued higher, because is was like ten feet above sea level.
