Vespa, TREE-ed!!!

Subscribe to my channel:

Here is my desperate bid for YouTube viraldom!

Well, not really. I mean, don't get me wrong, I aspire to viraldom, but I'm not into kidding myself, I'm nowhere even remotely close to that. Seriously.

In this episode come along as a fetch a Christmas tree as a favour to my daughter Lauren.

This is where you learn that when you ride a Vespa, no errand is beyond reach.

The music for this episode of the vlog is Swipesy Cakewalk by E's Jammy Jams made available courtesy of the YouTube Audio Library.

If you've been living under a rock, and you've never heard of Steve Williams and Scooter in the Sticks, by all means go have a peak at what Steve's up to.

If you were hoping that this episode was going to be Five-0 in the 6ixI I'm afraid it's still in the studio waiting for more bits and pieces to come together. Hopefully when it finally sees the light of day you won't be disappointed. Also in the works are Vespa maintenance videos including an oil change, hub oil change, and yes, a cooling system flush and thermostat replacement. Exciting stuff indeed.

Thanks for watching, and stay tuned!

Only 6 feet big deal - now let's see you bring home a giant sequoia and your chain saw! That would definitely make it viraldon and probably get you arrested too! I can see some photoshop in your future. Happy Holidays

And you didn't even need a side car to carry the tree!!

Ah, but with a sidecar, you get a real tree home....

Christmas Tree delivery

Still, nice job getting that tree home!

Wasn’t there a video or maybe just pictures with a lit, live tree set vertically on the rear rack?

Was that the Sheppard & Leslie not-an-ed-TREE store?

Thanks Jim!

I am painfully aware that going viral with a video in the current YouTube market requires borderline inappropriate clickbait, or cringe-woorthy content, or feats of true daring. Everyday adventures like hang gliding, wakeboarding, helicopter skiing, wing walking, and barnstorming barely elicit yawns these days.

Oh well... in the meantime I'm having fun, and that's all that matters!

Right? I'm right, right??

You know Brandy, a sidecar takes the sport out of it, unless you use that to haul home a fully lit 15' tree trailing a two hundred foot extension cable :_)

Very nice pic Dom!

But like I said, we want to see a WAY BIGGER TREE (with lights)!!

See?? Spoken like a true engineer.

Now that might give me a shot at viraldom for sure :)

Good eye Ed, yes indeed, that was the Canadian Tire store on Sheppard just west of Leslie.

If only I had such a long extension cord David....but then again, I've the room to pack a generator to power said lights....

Ok, thought the Laird & Egg store would have been closer to destination ... ;)

Good luck on your pursuit of viraldom. I've never managed to achieve that lofty state. I suppose it does depend on how you define it. I'm just plugging away one post at a time. Not sure where I'll end up. Blog wise that is.

Congratulations on hauling a tree home. I've done it three times with a live tree. We've not had a tree in the house for a few years now so no further transport. But the next time we do you can be sure it will be on the scooter. The last tree hauled was about 7.5 feet long. They don't weigh much and once they're wrapped in mesh they're easy to strap onto the back of the seat or rear rack. If I do it again I'm hoping for a snow fall at the same time to have a real Currier and Ives moment!

Enjoyed watching the video. You're become a real character with a pretty fluid performance. I can't imagine being able to do what you do. At least not unscripted. I would just be doing a lot of fumbling and mumbling.

Maybe for your next post you can haul a barrel of rum and go to some sort of wild scooter rider party. Or ride with a Santa suit and hand out cash to unsuspecting Harley riders.

This really cracked me up, David. Maybe you get your wish of going viral by hauling the impossible on a Vespa... I believe Steve might be on to something here.

Lauren and Harris bought a home in Pickering so the tree sits in our locker waiting for Lauren to pick it up in the next few days.

I find internet metrics whether on Blogger, Youtube or elsewhere fascinating. I've been watching my stats on Blogger for years now and there are always surprises and conundrums. It's like trying to figure out what things look like when all you have to go by are the shadows they cast.

YouTube is a whole new statistics and shadow game.

There are as many variables as there are on Blogger, but the way that the medium works is in some ways more tilted in favour of the creator (though as YouTube tweaks the platform, creators complain as some lose the grip they once enjoyed.

Overall, though my efforts are still very much in their infancy, the one key seems to be, for any given level of talent and quality, volume, volume, volume. The more you produce, the bigger your portfolio, the greater the audience you can grow.

That's the theory for now.

Overall, you won't go far if your videos are excruciating to watch. So quality is very important and I am striving to learn and improve.

We'll see where this all goes.

BTW, I figured you wouldn't mind if I lifted one of your photos since I compensated with a heartfelt plug :)

Thanks Sonja! I'm glad I made you smile.

So far I've hauled a car battery, bouquets of flowers, groceries, a telephone system, briefcases and computer bags, tents and camping gear, and my sorry butt! There may be no end in sight :)

Enjoyed your video, and the rest of your site. Biggest carrying adventure I had on a vespa was bringing home a microwave (in the box) on a 150 Sprint... Rain barrel in a Smart car was a similar adventure...
