What a nice idea to spend mother's day in Italy. Please post some more pics of the lovely scenery. The view from the pier towards town is priceless.

Sonja, it took me all day but now I can drive like an Italian. The trick is to drive the rental car in second at 3k RPM, and keep one eye on the gap between the rock face and the passenger rear view mirror, and use "the force" in the hairpin turns.

The amazing thing was watching the guys and girls on the sport bikes at what seemed to be 80 km/h screaming through the twisties, passing in the oncoming lane, and dodging each other and the cars with micro seconds to spare.

Mad skills, plus a firm belief in invulnerability.

I don't know what to think about the girlfriends all jacked up and spread-eagled on the ridiculous pillion position (it can hardly be called a seat, now can it?).

Too bad I decided not to bring my GoPro.

David:

I have a vivid imagination and I have a vision in my mind and I know exactly what you saw. too bad about leaving your GoProHD at home. I brought mine to Hawai'i and stuck it at the end of a monopod. You can get excellent video right from your car window.

Happy Mother's day to Susan xox

have a good vacation
